hhhheeeeeyyy CAMERA!

so. last year right before i left for portugal my camera broke. and i knew it was pretty broken and couldn't be fixed because the lense was all effed up. it at least could not be fixed before i left for portugal. so in portugal i bought a cheap digicam and have been using it since. sometimes i would think of my old camera with a pang of sadness. the new camera i had was fine but it did not take nearly as good pictures and i just felt like an idiot for breaking the old one. then over this break i charged up my old camera (which i kept) because i was going to put my memory card in it bc i didnt bring home the one for my current camera. so after i charged i thought "what the hell" and just tried to turn it on AND IT FUCKING WORKED! i am so excited because now i have my old camera back and i can give me new camera to steph who broke her camera sort of when some stolen vodka spilled all over it (tupperware is not a good place to store vodka). pretty cool.

because everyone was here visiting and i was just thinking about that i didn't really how soon christmas is! i woke up yesterday morning and realized it was in 5 DAYS! now its in 4 DAYS! i was so excited about people be in town that i kinda hadn't thought about christmas at all and now it's just so bizarre. its like a surprise christmas party or something.

binoculars

two years ago my dad gave me a pair of binoculars for my birthday with no explanation. he likes binoculars but i have no idea why he gave them to me for my birthday. anyway, i recently opened them and started looking around my room with them in the morning when i am laying in bed. i decided that i want to start spying on my neighbors with them. i want to get a strap and have them on me at all times so someone can walkie-talkie me and tell me of something interesting and i can see whats up. i like the way things look in binoculars and that you get a new perspective on things. everything looks very two dimensional and you notice things you had not noticed before. today, while looking out my window, i realized there was this big apartment building that i had never noticed. i looked around too much and now i feel sick.

long underwear

i really love wearing long underwear bottoms. i wear them whenever i'm in my apartment and sometimes outside as well. i've also started wearing turtle necks and a GREAT pink chenille ear warmer. i've always loved lounge outfits but i've really taken it up to a new level this christmas with my thermals (that's how i think of them).

today i threw an orange from our balcony to steph on the street so she could have a snack on her way to class. i broke and dislocated her finger. sorry steph.

last night i received a call from jake telling me that he was walking down the street and he saw a little kitten in the snow (it snowed!). he went and picked it up and it was shaking and cold and so he put it in his jacket. he went over to a near house and asked if the man knew anything about the cat and then man quickly said "no" and closed to door. then jake went to a house kitty-corner (hah) that had a tv on. an old kooky lady answered the door and told jake that the cat was from the house that jake had just been to! they had had kittens and had taken some but were trying to get rid of the others, she knew. SO jake took the poor little white kitten home with him and i went over to see him.

jake couldn't take the kitty because he didnt have the time and the whole house wasnt on board for having a new kitty. so, being the kind loving type, steph and i went over again to play with the kitty. and just like the rain today melted the snow, little blanco (the name jake gave her) melted our hearts. we have now adopted her. jake is going to call the lady from last night and see if she has figured out whether the kitty belongs to someone but if not she is OURS! she is sooo sweet and mellow. and SOFT! thomas crown did not like her very much at the time of their first encounter but on the second attempt they were much more tolerant of each other. here's hopin'.

we are not completely sure she is a girl, but we think so.

AH! why did you have to do this japan???

i realize i am blogging about another blog but this is so scary!! don't you know what this is going to lead to?? can't you see that this is terrible?? god, the end is coming and the japanese seem to be happy about it. it says "ow!" if the dentist is not doing a good job. this is so unnecessary and scary.

i do not understand people who are afraid of fish

they are one of the least offensive animals. they dont even have legs or hands to chase after you or anything. i realize that i am afraid of some dumb things but honestly, its a fish. i promise they are not out to get you, weirdos.

college is funny

As, well, everyone who reads this blog knows, I am writing a paper for my dumbfuck folklore class about my grandma and about the stories she tells. This is a picture of my grandma and of Matt, Gram and Pop and I. You would think that writing a nice little 4-6 pager about ol' Grammie would be easy peasy, but its NOT. This is what I wish I could write for my paper and about all I have to say about it.

"My favorite story that my grandma tells goes like this - she had a monkey in India named Bakshish and he would ride in her bike basket and he at 'all of [her] goddamn Palmolive soap'"

Here's why these pictures are funny: the one of the four of us Gram has her eyes closed. My face is a complete circle. Pop looks kinda fat which is his not but also kinda cool, right? Matt is wearing a kraft apron with "Kathy Spear" written on it. The one of just gram is funny because she looks really funny and it's such an awkward Kathy Spear picture. Also Becky, Jenny and I look pissed off at each other. Look at all those tasty snacks.

fan art.

fan art makes me laugh so much. the term fan art is funny in itself. as steph so eloquently stated, "its weird because it captures the essence of the person, but it's just wrong." for the record, those pictures of are orlando bloom, keira knightley, and dan radcliffe. i will be happily google imaging someone and then all the sudden some fan art shows up and it is so shockingly different and in dumb charcoal or pencil. they always really emphasize cheek bones and shadowing and their foreheads are always square. their hairline is usually weird also. there is a lot of fan art of harry potter celebrities.

all i want for christmas is you, meerkats!

these are meerkat manor slippers. they only come in youth sizes but i still asked for them for christmas and i will just cut off the backs. im also asking for all three seasons of meerkat manor.

i want a pet sea lion

today i watched andre. it is a movie about a pet seal but in real life it is a sea lion because seals are too hard to train. i decided that i really want a pet sea lion. i also want a pet meerkat but i wont get one because they are animals that really need to be with their families and it would be mean to take it away from them.
i love animals so much and i dont understand people who dont like animals or people in movies like andre who try to kill the animals. what have they ever done to you? huh?
i suggest that everyone watch the show meerkat manor and there is a new show like meerkat manor coming out or it is out already called orangutan island about a bunch of orangutans that get stranded on this island and have to start their own family. i would rather it be chimps than orangutans but it will do JUST FINE.
